🐾 Hendricks County Postpones Animal Control Ordinance Decision Until November 10

Hendricks County commissioners have postponed a decision on proposed animal control regulations until November 10, allowing local municipalities additional time to prepare for potential changes in animal control responsibilities. Officials from several towns raised concerns about staffing, training, equipment, and funding needed to manage these services. The proposed ordinance would primarily affect unincorporated areas and smaller Hendricks County towns. Commissioners also delayed a related animal shelter ordinance so both proposals can be considered together. A decision is expected at the November 10 meeting.

🥫 Brownsburg Students Aim to Raise $20,000 for Local Food Pantry

Two Brownsburg High School seniors are making a difference through their DECA project, Pack the Pantry. The students hope to raise more than $20,000 by the end of December to support the Messiah Lutheran Church Food Pantry. Their fundraising efforts include community events, business partnerships, and donations. An upcoming Pumpkin Patch Movie Night at Hogan Farms on October 24 will help support the campaign.

🏓 Brownsburg Plans Improvements to Stephens Park Pickleball Courts

Brownsburg Parks is moving forward with improvements to the Stephens Park pickleball courts following noise concerns from nearby residents. Court resurfacing is complete, while new fencing, controlled access, and potential sound-reduction measures are among the upgrades being considered or implemented. Officials are working to balance the courts' popularity with neighborhood concerns while reviewing costs and construction options.
