Brownsburg Residents Come Together To Support and Help Out Local Teens Raise Money
Brownsburg residents came together this week to support two local teenagers after a troubling incident of racism disrupted their fundraising efforts. The teens, who were raising money for New Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church's anti-violence youth program, had been selling candy outside a local restaurant when they were verbally harassed by a man using racial slurs.

The incident sparked outrage throughout the community and inspired a wave of support. Rockstar Pizza quickly offered its space as a safe and welcoming location for the teens to continue their fundraiser. Word spread quickly, and by Thursday afternoon, a large crowd gathered at the restaurant to show their backing. More than a hundred people turned out, creating lines that stretched out the door.
Attendees came not just to purchase candy, but to demonstrate that hate would not be tolerated in Brownsburg. Neighbors exchanged words of encouragement, shared smiles, and made it clear that the community stands united against racism.
Local residents expressed frustration that incidents like this continue to occur, but many said they were inspired by the outpouring of love and unity on display. The gathering served as a powerful reminder that acts of kindness and collective support can rise above hate.
The fundraiser successfully continued throughout the day, bringing in both financial contributions and emotional encouragement for the teens involved. For many, the event was a defining moment in reaffirming Brownsburg’s commitment to inclusivity and respect for all residents.
