Elevator Breakdown Traps Seniors in Brownsburg Apartment Building

Residents of Broadstone Pointe, a senior apartment building in Brownsburg, have been struggling since their elevator broke down. Many, including those with mobility issues and chronic health conditions, find it difficult to use the stairs, which is currently the only way to access different floors.
Some residents are unable to leave their apartments due to the broken elevator, causing concern for their safety and well-being. The building's management has not provided a clear timeline for the elevator's repair. In response to this situation, residents have reached out to the fire marshal and the Indiana Department of Health for assistance.

Regulations regarding facilities for the handicapped in such housing situations have been cited, but there's no specific law mandating functioning elevators in senior housing. The situation has left residents feeling unsafe and hoping for a swift resolution.
Today Is the Day! - Come To ‘Dogtona’ and Support the Hendricks County K-9s

Today, the Hendricks County Fairgrounds will be the venue for the 22nd Dogtona, an indoor event for dogs and their owners, hosted by the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office. This family-friendly occasion runs from noon until 4 p.m. in the Power Expo Hall, offering a variety of activities for children and their canine companions. These include a "Leave It" contest, a K-9 showcase, various dog games, a dog parade, and competitions for Best Dressed, Best Singer, Best Tail, Ears, Talent, or Naturally Colorful.

The event provides a chance for attendees, especially devoted dog owners, to support the sheriff’s K-9 deputies and the Hendricks County Humane Society. The sheriff’s department will be selling new design shirts, sweatshirts, and other K-9 related merchandise to raise funds for their remarkable K-9 deputies. They will also be doing demonstrations so that you can see the K-9 Deputies doing their unique jobs.
