Hendricks County Nonprofits Receive $38,750 For Housing Stability & Abuse Prevention

Two Hendricks County nonprofits are getting a boost to help local families. Hendricks County Bank and Trust announced $38,750 in grant funding and matching donations, awarded through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis' Community Multiplier , Member Match program.

The money will support housing stability, assist survivors of domestic violence, and strengthen child abuse prevention efforts. It's a local investment that touches some of the most vulnerable people in the community.

Get to Know Indiana’s 4 Secretary of State Candidates

Indiana voters will choose a new secretary of state on Nov. 3, and there are four candidates on the ballot.

The winner will replace Republican Diego Morales, whose reelection bid ended at the GOP state convention in June. The candidates are Libertarian Lauri Shillings, 55, a Carmel resident and creative director for the University of Indianapolis; Republican Max [last name], and two others.

The article provides a Q&A with each candidate to help voters get to know them. The secretary of state oversees elections and business services in Indiana, so this race matters for how elections are run and how businesses interact with the state.

With Morales out, the seat is open, and the candidates bring different backgrounds to the table. What questions do you have for the candidates?

Athlete of the Week: Brownsburg High School Girls Cross Country Runner Keeps Getting Better

Kendra Harless is a sophomore on the Brownsburg High School girls cross country team, and her coach, Craig Beckner, thinks she's only going to get better. That's saying something, because her first two seasons have already been impressive.

As a freshman, Harless consistently finished in the top two for the Bulldogs. This season, Beckner says she's shown great improvement, building on that solid foundation.

The article highlights her as athlete of the week, noting her steady progress and the high expectations her coach has for her future. It's a nice recognition for a young runner who's already making her mark.
