Brownsburg Native Secures Internship Role with Indiana Senate Majority Caucus

Christopher Curts has joined the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus for the 2024 legislative term as an intern, as announced by State Sen. Brian Buchanan of Lebanon. Hailing from Brownsburg, Curts is the son of Charles and Amy Curts. His educational journey includes graduation from Brownsburg High School, followed by earning a political science degree from Purdue University.

Buchanan expressed enthusiasm about the internship program offered by the Senate, highlighting its role in providing college students with a practical understanding of both local and state governmental operations. He commended Curts for taking the initiative to engage with the legislative process.

During his internship, Curts plays a pivotal role in the Page Program, where he is responsible for introducing students to state senators and enhancing their experience within the Senate Chamber throughout the session. Curts expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to contribute to the Page Program, emphasizing his interest in Indiana politics and his commitment to encouraging youth participation in local governance.

The internship for the Senate Majority is designed to span the entire legislative session, which aims to conclude by March 14.

$150,000 Powerball Prize Ticket Sold in Brownsburg

If you're holding onto a Powerball ticket from the Hoosier Lottery and you made your purchase in Brownsburg, it's time to look at your ticket numbers closely, as a lucky individual just bagged a whopping $150,000.

The announcement came from the Hoosier Lottery, pinpointing the location of the sale at the Speedway gas station, located at 910 E. Main Street in Brownsburg.

The numbers that clinched Monday's Powerball draw were: 4, 23, 45, 50, 53, with the Powerball number being 17, accompanied by a Power Play® multiplier of 3X.

The 12th annual Indiana Small Farm Conference is open for registration, taking place from Feb. 29 to March 1 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville.

Organized by Purdue Agriculture, the event features a variety of sessions on topics like pasture-raised turkeys, mushroom cultivation, agritourism, and more, alongside a trade show and networking opportunities.

The trade show offers exhibitors a chance to display their products and services. Keynote speaker Michael Kilpatrick will discuss the potential of small farms to provide local food.
