BCSC Board of School Trustees Begins Search For Next Superintendent

BCSC Board of School Trustees posted in Brownsburg Community School Corporation

BCSC: Superintendent Position to be Posted Today

The BCSC Board of School Trustees will be posting the position of Superintendent of Brownsburg Schools this afternoon. There are very specific protocols surrounding the hiring of a Superintendent in Indiana. The school board will begin the process by collecting valuable feedback from BCSC staff, families, and the community through an online survey that will be widely shared.

The survey and the search will be administered by the University Search Team, a group of four education professionals from four Indiana universities - Purdue University, Indiana University, Ball State University, and Indiana State University. They will post the position, gather the feedback from staff, families, and the community, help to screen the candidates, and advise and prepare the school board for interviews. This service is financially supported by the universities and is offered to schools across the state free of charge. The majority of Indiana school boards use the University Search Team to help them find the right superintendent for their district. The school board intends to approve the hiring of the next Superintendent of Brownsburg Schools prior to July 1, 2024. The school board will advertise the contract and conduct a public hearing prior to making a decision. Those details will be communicated at a later date.

We hope that you will take a moment to share your opinions in the survey. This will give important information to the school board to establish BCSC's strengths, challenges, and priorities as the district moves forward. It will also provide a snapshot into the personal characteristics and professional skills that the BCSC community is looking for in the next superintendent.
