Brownsburg Ranked In Top Ten of Indiana’s Safest Cities For Eleventh Year In a Row

Brownsburg is once again being recognized for its commitment to safety. For the eleventh consecutive year, the town has been ranked among Indiana’s safest cities by SafeWise, coming in at number ten for 2025. This consistent recognition highlights the work of local law enforcement, emergency services, and community partnerships that help keep neighborhoods secure.

The ranking factors in crime statistics, population data, and other public safety measures. Brownsburg’s strong showing year after year reflects proactive policies, dedicated officers, and engaged residents working together to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

The continued focus on public safety ensures that Brownsburg remains a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family. Brownsburg continues to prove itself as one of Indiana’s standout communities.

Leadership Brownsburg Academy Now Accepting 2026 Applications

The Town of Brownsburg has opened applications for the 2026 session of the Leadership Brownsburg Academy, a free program designed for residents and local business owners who want to become more involved in shaping the future of the community. This eight-session series provides a rare, in-depth look at how Brownsburg’s local government works, offering participants a chance to engage directly with the people and departments that keep the town running smoothly.

Through a mix of interactive lessons, group activities, and behind-the-scenes tours, attendees will gain hands-on knowledge of the town’s operations. Sessions are held monthly from February through September, each highlighting a different area of local government. Topics include development services, economic growth, public safety, parks, utilities, capital projects, and more. The experience concludes with a graduation ceremony in October.

The 2026 schedule features:

  • Feb. 10: Town overview and leadership development

  • Mar. 10: Development services and economic development

  • Apr. 14: Fire territory operations

  • May 12: Brownsburg Parks

  • Jun. 9: Water and wastewater services

  • Jul. 14: Capital projects, streets, and fleet management

  • Aug. 11: Police department overview

  • Sep. 8: Government 101

  • Oct. 8: Graduation during a Town Council meeting

Participants must attend at least six of the eight sessions, which run from 2 to 4 p.m. each month. Past graduates have praised the academy for deepening their understanding of local government and encouraging community involvement.

Applications are open now through January 9, and those selected will be notified on January 19. This program is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to build leadership skills, connect with town leaders, and play an active role in Brownsburg’s future.
